A live trading desk built on the Svelte 5 data grid: 10,000 securities tick on a 500 ms feed while the grid stays at 60 fps. Symbol is pinned left and P&L pinned right, cells pulse green or red on each price move, every row carries a 30-point sparkline, and a KPI strip recomputes across all rows on every tick with $derived. It uses the same SvGrid primitives as every other example, with rows held in $state.raw so each tick hands the grid one new array reference instead of 10,000 cell mutations.

Frequently asked questions
How does the grid stay smooth with 10,000 rows updating every 500 ms?
Row virtualization only renders the rows in view, and the demo keeps its rows in $state.raw so a tick replaces the array once instead of mutating 10,000 reactive objects. Only about 5 percent of rows change per tick, and the sparkline path is recomputed only for rows whose reference changed.
How are the cell flashes done?
A pulses map is rebuilt on every tick with the ids and directions of the rows that moved. Cell snippets read it to add a green or red class, and because the map is replaced rather than appended to, stale pulses disappear on the next tick without any cleanup timer.
Do I need special APIs to pin columns and add sparklines?
No. Symbol and P&L are pinned with the grid prop initialColumnPinning={{ left: ["symbol"], right: ["pnl"] }}, and the sparkline is a plain Svelte snippet rendering an SVG path from the row's rolling buffer. Everything in this demo is available in @svgrid/grid.
